Indie singer-songwriter Adam Melchor once again captivated the Portland audience with a solo acoustic set last week while opening up for Noah Kahan at a sold-out Crystal Ballroom show.

Melchor is hot off the heels of his sophomore album release, Here Goes Nothing!, which was released just a few weeks before the Portland show in October 2022. Following the success of his 2021 debut album, Melchor Lullaby Hotline Vol. 1, Melchor landed on the music scene for his soft-spoken and tender melodies, and it brought him to Portland for an intimate, headlining show at Doug Fir Lounge.

As soon as Adam takes the stage, the lights soften, and the crowd dials in. Whether you have seen him perform before or not, you can't help but be drawn to his beautiful lyrics and impeccable musicianship. He is effortless and authentic on stage despite the single spotlight and packed crowd, making it seem like you're just hanging out at a friend's jam session.

His set was short but filled with multiple songs from the new album and stories in between. He introduced "Joyride" by telling of his parents' stolen car and shared his experience writing "Let Me Know When" with Charlie Puth, which features the iconic band Fleet Foxes on the album version. He closed out his set with "Real Estate," with fans singing along until the last note.

Melchor's warm melodies and crescendoing choruses give waves of nostalgia and shared human experience. He has a way of making everyday life poetic -- the love, the heartbreak, the grief, and everything in between.

Don't miss Adam Melchor on his next headlining show in Portland at the Aladdin Theater on March 17, 2023. Get your tickets here, stream Here Goes Nothing!, and check out the full gallery below.
